Verification Policy
Draft: this page is being finalised and may change before launch.
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Every PG on Stay Finder carries a "Verified" badge. This page explains exactly what that means, so you know what to rely on.
What we do
- A surveyor from our team visits the PG in person.
- They record the key details with the owner: rent for each room type, deposit, food, rules, amenities and the owner's contact number.
- Photos are taken live with our camera on site, tagged with the location, and checked to have been taken at the PG.
- Our admin team reviews each survey before the PG is published.
- If the owner shows permits such as a trade licence, hostel licence, FSSAI registration or fire safety NOC, the surveyor notes which ones they saw. They appear on the listing as "Documents seen".
What "Verified" does not mean
- It does not guarantee that the PG holds every licence or permit required by law. "Documents seen" only records what the owner showed us; we do not check it with the issuing authority. Please ask the owner.
- It does not guarantee that rent, availability or rules are unchanged since the visit.
- It is not a promise about the owner's behaviour or the quality of your stay.
Staying safe
- Visit the PG and see the room you will get before you pay.
- Pay only the owner, and ask for a receipt. Stay Finder never asks you for advance payments.
